Your Step-by-Step Home Care Guide
Cheek filler is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that uses hyaluronic acid dermal filler to restore lost facial volume, enhance cheekbone definition and create a naturally lifted, youthful appearance. Whether your treatment has been performed to replace age-related volume loss or improve facial contours, it is normal to experience mild swelling, tenderness or bruising around the cheeks during the first few days. As the filler settles into position and any swelling subsides, your final results will become more refined and balanced. Following the correct aftercare will help minimise swelling, support healing and ensure you achieve the best possible outcome from your treatment.
For the safest recovery and the best possible results, please follow the aftercare guide below.
Step 1: Apply a Cold Compress
Use a clean, wrapped cold compress for short intervals during the first 24 hours to help reduce swelling and discomfort.
Step 2: Avoid Touching Your Cheeks
Do not massage, press or sleep directly on the treated area for at least 24 hours unless instructed by your practitioner.
Step 3: Avoid Exercise and Heat
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and excessive heat for 24–48 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
Step 4: Sleep on Your Back
Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated for the first couple of nights to avoid placing pressure on the filler while it settles.
Step 5: Delay Facial Treatments
Avoid facials, facial massage and other aesthetic treatments for at least two weeks unless approved by your practitioner.
Step 6: Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water to support your skin and help maintain the hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid filler.
Step 7: Allow Time for Results
It is normal for your cheeks to feel firm or appear slightly fuller initially, with final results becoming visible once swelling has settled over the next 10–14 days.
Step 8: Attend Your Review Appointment
If a follow-up appointment has been arranged, attend as recommended so your practitioner can review your results and ensure optimal symmetry.
