Profhilo Aftercare Guide

Profhilo is an advanced injectable skin remodelling treatment made with one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid available. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo does not add volume or alter facial contours. Instead, it works by stimulating collagen and elastin production while deeply hydrating the skin from within, improving skin quality, firmness and elasticity. Commonly used to treat the face, neck, décolletage and hands, Profhilo leaves the skin looking smoother, healthier and more radiant over the weeks following treatment. Mild redness, swelling and small bumps at the injection sites are completely normal and will settle as the product disperses beneath the skin. For the safest recovery and the best possible results, please follow the aftercare guide below.

What to expect

  • Mild redness, swelling and tenderness at the injection sites are common for 24–72 hours.

  • Small raised bumps at the injection points are expected and usually disappear within 24–48 hours as the product spreads beneath the skin.

  • Mild bruising may occur and can last up to 7–14 days.

  • Skin hydration and radiance often begin to improve within a few days, with full results developing over 4–8 weeks.

First 24 hours

  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching or massaging it.

  • Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least 12 hours.

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, hot yoga and excessive heat for 48 hours.

  • Sleep on your back where possible and avoid placing pressure on the treated area overnight.

  • Apply a cool compress if required for comfort, using light pressure for 5–10 minutes at a time.

For the next 2 weeks

  • Avoid facial treatments such as chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling and facial massage unless advised by your practitioner.

  • Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily.

  • Maintain good hydration by drinking plenty of water to support your skin’s natural healing process.

  • Continue using a gentle skincare routine until any tenderness has completely resolved.

Area-specific aftercare

  • If your face has been treated, avoid excessive facial massage and active skincare products for several days.

  • If your neck has been treated, avoid tight collars or anything that rubs against the injection sites.

  • If your décolletage has been treated, avoid restrictive clothing and excessive friction across the chest.

  • If your hands have been treated, avoid heavy manual activity for the remainder of the day where possible.

What’s normal after Profhilo?

  • Small injection point bumps that gradually flatten within 24–48 hours.

  • Mild redness and tenderness around the injection sites.

  • Slight bruising or swelling.

  • Skin feeling slightly tight as the treatment begins to stimulate collagen production.

FAQs

Can I wear makeup?

Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least 12 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

Can I exercise?

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Gentle walking is perfectly fine.

Can I drink alcohol?

It is recommended to avoid alcohol for 24 hours as it may increase bruising and swelling.

When will I see the final result?

Profhilo works gradually by stimulating collagen and elastin. Most clients notice improvements after their second treatment, with optimal results developing over 4–8 weeks.

Do I need a review?

Profhilo is typically performed as a course of two treatments approximately four weeks apart. If your practitioner has recommended a review or follow-up appointment, please attend so your progress can be assessed and your treatment plan can be tailored accordingly.
